About Bruce

Bruce H. Wolk is a nonfiction writer living in Denver, Colorado. Originally educated as a research biologist, he maintained parallel studies in creative writing and literature.

His current book, “The Sea of Peroxide,” is a memoir based on his experiences as a New York City Paramedic at the start of the AIDS crisis. It is the only book ever written that documents the tragic disease at street level and the devastation it brought to patients, their families and friends. The book is also a plea for better benefits and mental health support for EMTs and Paramedics.

Bruce holds two degrees in the biological sciences and an MBA in Management.

As a writer many areas of research interest Bruce, reflective of his hobbies and experiences. He is passionate about heirloom gardening, cooking, Wing Chun, and most anything related to Asia.

Bruce and his wife and live in Denver, Colorado where they are kept by a cat named “Marguerite” who one day, five years ago, appeared at their door (chip-less) and demanded to be adopted by them.
